Argentinian football star Lionel Messi has been named as the official 'Icon' of the Royal Caribbean International's new cruise ship, Icon of the Seas.

Messi is set to take part in a naming ceremony for the ship on January 23 in Miami, Florida, and commented 'I’m thrilled and honoured to join the Royal Caribbean family to celebrate the arrival of the game changing Icon of the Seas. Icon is beyond anything else that’s out there for family vacations, with incredible never before seen features, all designed for making memories together'.
