JOY (Anonymous) started performing pop-up DJ sets on London's Southbank to provide a pick-me-up after the UK lockdowns in 2020, before releasing singles including JOY (Love's Not Real), JOY (Back On 74), and JOY (Head To The Sky).

The British DJ duo, comprising Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, supported music producer and DJ Fred Again.. on his 2023 world tour, and released a documentary in partnership with Brooklyn Brewery in September, prior to their second album, Cult Classics, released in November.
