Nicola Dinan, a London based writer, released her debut novel Bellies in July.

Described as 'smart, hilarious and deeply moving' by Canadian actor Elliot Page, the story follows the shifting relationship between two queer students, Ming and Tom, when Ming comes out as transgender and begins her transition. In 2021, the book was nominated for the Mo Siewcharran Prize, which helps discover unpublished writers from ethnic minority backgrounds, and in 2022 it was optioned for an eight-part series by Normal People production company Element Pictures, as part of a 15-way auction.
