Thara Popoola, who started out writing poetry before moving into playwriting and screenwriting, has been named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in the field of entertainment.

Currently working on season four of Netflix's Sex Education and Channel 4's Queenie, the comedy and drama writer also co-founded Black Women in Scripted, a network of Black British women and non-binary individuals working in scripted film and TV. Popoola's original project Awakening is also in development with Warp/Channel 4.
