Rising Stars: Black Girl Gamers

16 12 2022

Black Girl Gamers, an online community formed on Facebook in 2015, was created by entrepreneur Jay-Ann Lopez to provide a safe space for Black women who’ve experienced sexism and racism while online gaming.

Since then, it’s championed diversity, inclusion and equity in the industry through events, consulting, talent brokering, content and mentorship programmes. In December 2022, Black Girl Gamers were profiled as part of Dazed’s Dazed100, which celebrates a ‘generation of digital pioneers defining a new era of the internet and shaping the future of culture’.
