Rising Stars: Aria Mia Loberti

13 04 2022

Aria Mia Loberti, an American actress and disability activist, is set to make her acting debut as Marie-Laure in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Anthony Doerr's bestselling novel, All The Light We Cannot See, starring opposite Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo.

Loberti, who has a rare eye condition and is almost completely blind, was selected out of thousands of actors to play the blind French teenager, despite having no prior experience or training. No stranger to the spotlight, however, she's a vocal disability activist who's served on the UN Women Task Force for Youth and Gender Equality, and delivered a TEDx Talk titled 'The power of solidarity and silence in 2018'. Also an aspiring academic, Loberti is currently working towards a PhD in ancient rhetoric at Pennsylvania State University.
