Dermot O'Leary has unveiled the launch of the Learning the Ropes mentoring programme, in collaboration with his Tuskar Trust organisation, which focuses on helping 'young creatives aged 18-24 currently underrepresented in the TV industry who are looking to get into all areas of production'.
The new scheme is also supported by the Mayor of London, and has pledged to help 15 individuals kickstart their TV industry careers. The British TV presenter and This Morning host commented 'I founded the Tuskar Trust, to try and help young people get valuable work experience in the world of broadcasting. I am looking forward to spearheading this mentoring scheme alongside some brilliant colleagues and friends in the TV industry. We all know our industry needs to be more representative, at every level, and I can’t wait to see the new wave of talent and impact of hearing from different voices'.
