Sir Sir Trevor McDonald and Shaun Wallace have lent their support to NHS Blood and Transplant, starring in video messages urging more people of Black heritage to give blood, as 'for many Black patients, a successful blood transfusion will most likely come from a donor of the same ethnic background'.

The campaign coincides with Black History Month, and McDonald commented 'Whether it's for your loved ones, your neighbour, or even somebody you've never met. Small acts of kindness make a difference'.
