Olivia Colman and Zara McDermott support Refuge

05 02 2021

Personalities including Olivia Colman, Zara McDermott and Nicky Morgan are backing Refuge’s #TheNakedThreat campaign, calling on the government and Home Secretary Priti Patel to change the law and make threatening to post revenge porn and intimate images a criminal offence, via the Domestic Abuse Bill.

McDermott commented 'I’ve been on the receiving end of "revenge porn" threats and know exactly how damaging it can be. I’ve heard from countless other women that they too have had similar experiences. This change in the law really could make a difference to the lives of so many women. I hope that the Government will hear our message loud and clear and push for the changes we are asking for - a swift and simple amendment to the law really could make a difference. The time to act is now'.
