Celebrity MasterChef 2020 winner Riyadh Khalaf has been appointed as the new Tackling Loneliness Champion for the British Red Cross, supporting the charity's 'call for action to prevent a loneliness emergency this winter', after recent research shows 39% of people haven't had a meaningful conversation with someone in two weeks.
The Irish YouTube personality and presenter said 'I know what it feels like to be lonely and cut off so I was amazed to hear about the ways in which the Red Cross and its team of young volunteers have been helping others to learn how to get online. Nothing beats getting together but that’s going to be difficult this winter so I’m delighted to be working with the British Red Cross to help people feel confident enough to offer help and ask for help'.
