Aweng Chuol, a South Sudanese model born in a Kenyan refugee camp, was scouted while working in a Sydney branch of McDonald’s two years ago, and has since worked with brands including Burberry, Savage x Fenty, and Vetements.

Now based in New York, Chuol is currently at law school while juggling a growing international modelling career, and is set to graduate next year. The 21 year old is also passionate about activism, particularly issues relating to women of colour, mental health, refugees, and the LGBTQ+ community, and has spoken at the UN’s Mental Health Forum, as well as working with charities War Child and Children in Conflict.
