Ama Lou, a 21 year old singer/songwriter from Stoke Newington, began her journey to global stardom in 2018 with the release of her DDD EP, accompanied by a short film of the same name.
Written and directed by Lou, and shot by her sister, the film features the young Londoner as a part of a Los Angeles crime organisation, racking up more than two million YouTube views. Having been championed by stars including Drake, the soul/R&B singer released single Northside, paying tribute to her hometown, followed by EP, Ama Who?. In January, Lou dropped the visuals for her single We Tried, We Tried, embellishing what Wonderland described as ‘irresistible pulsing neo-soul’ vocals with a ‘hilarious’ film in which she dons prosthetics to play both an elderly husband and wife.
