KJ Smith, 34, an American actress, first turned heads appearing in Ava Duvernay and Oprah Winfrey's trailblazing drama series Queen Sugar.
With no official training, Smith never planned on pursuing acting as a career, despite her passion, and landed a corporate job after graduating with a business degree from Florida State University. However, after being inspired by a friend to move to Los Angeles, she soon found herself taking on minor roles in Real Husbands of Hollywood, Survivor's Remorse and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, before being cast in BET's comedy-drama series Sistas last year. 2020 is already looking promising for Smith, as she stars opposite Nia Long and Omar Epps in Netflix’s Fatal Affair, and is set to take on the role of detective Karla Rolvaag in upcoming US TV series Skinny Dip.
