Rising Stars: Jeremy O’Harris

Jeremy O’Harris, 30, is an American actor and playwright, recognised for his stage productions Daddy and Slave Play.

While attending Yale drama school, O’Harris won the Lorraine Hansberry and the Rosa Parks Playwriting Award, leading the aspiring writer to his first official off-Broadway production at the New York Theatre Workshop. Slave Play has since been championed by celebrity fans including Rihanna, Lily-Rose Depp, and Rose McGowan, who attended the show’s preview on Broadway during NYFW 2019, and was named 'Broadway’s hottest ticket' by The Daily Beast. As well as celebrating his Broadway success, O'Harris is currently co-authoring the screenplay for upcoming film Zola, and developing a pilot for HBO with production company A24.
