Royal Mail has honoured Sir Sir Elton John, releasing a set of 12 stamps featuring his album artwork as well as shots of him performing, celebrating the legendary British singer/songwriter's 50 years in showbusiness and his contribution to music.
The Rocketman is the first living solo artist to feature on a set of official stamps, following the late David Bowie who received the tribute in 2017, and he commented 'To say I was surprised when Royal Mail got in touch is an understatement. Never did I think I'd appear on a stamp. It's wonderful - a great honour'.
