Shamier Anderson, the older brother of actor Stephan James (who played one of the lead roles in Barry Jenkins's acclaimed film If Beale Street Could Talk in 2018), was named one of Toronto Film Festival's Rising Stars ahead of the debut of his latest film.
Endings, Beginnings, which premiered at the A-list event this month, sees the Canadian born actor co-star alongside Shailene Woodley and Jamie Dornan in Drake Doremus's drama about a 30-something woman navigating through love and heartbreak. Anderson recently made a name for himself starring in supernatural horror series, Wynonna Earp, and Karyn Kusama’s film, Destroyer, where he appeared opposite Nicole Kidman, and is also set to join Anna Kendrick and Toni Collette in Joe Penna’s sci-fi thriller Stowaway, due for release next year.
