Zoë Ball has been unveiled as a patron of Mid Downs Radio, which operates from the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and provides 24/7 entertainment for patients, staff and visitors.
The station is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, and the BBC Radio 2 host said the acceptance of the patron’s role 'was a "perfect fit" in recognition of the role that hospital radio continues to play in giving young people, who would like to follow a career in broadcasting, their first experience'.
