Rising Stars: François Civil

04 06 2019

François Civil, the new hunk of French cinema, is on a meteoric rise to fame in his home country and received international attention at this year's Cannes Film Festival when he was presented with the prestigious Chopard Trophy alongside British actress Florence Pugh, following in the footsteps of stars including Shailene Woodley, Marion Cotillard, Audrey Tautou, Elizabeth Debicki and Gael García Bernal.

The 30 year old, who's steadily been making a name for himself after being talent scouted in a school play aged 14, has featured in three leading roles in 2019 alone, starring in submarine thriller The Wolf's Call with Omar Sy, comedy drama Who You Think I Am with Juliette Binoche and Yann Gozlan's action film Burn Out. Next Civil will be seen in Cédric Klapisch's Deux Moi and Cedric Jimenez’s thriller Bac Nord, which begins shooting in August.
