Joesef, a soulful musician hailing from the east end of Glasgow, is quietly making waves within the music industry, creating songs from the confines of his bedroom.
The singer/songwriter’s anticipated debut headline show at the legendary King Tut in March sold out before he’d officially released a track; an achievement previously accomplished by UK music chart favourite and fellow Scottish artist, Lewis Capaldi. Talking about the gig to BBC Scotland, Joesef commented ‘We posted a couple of wee clips on Instagram... I think everyone was just keen to see if I was gonna be really bad or no’. His first track Limbo documents a difficult breakup and has since received critical acclaim from The Independent, which lauded its impressive ‘Motown grooves, hip hop beats and jazz guitar’, and the young Glaswegian continues his tour of Scottish music venues this month, performing in both Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
