Vicky Knight, whose powerful performance in Dutch director Sacha Pollack's English language debut, Dirty God, created waves when it opened the Rotterdam Film Festival this year, has a promising acting career ahead following her breakout role as a young mother struggling to return to a normal life after an acid attack.
Knight, a newcomer who, like Jade, the character she plays in Dirty God, has scars all over her upper body after being caught in a devastating fire during childhood, impressed critics with her standout and unflinching portrait of a young working class woman coming to terms with wounds inflicted by an ex-boyfriend. Knight was convinced by Pollack to feature in the independent drama (released June 7 in the UK), and has since been approached by several acting agents.
