Hamzaa, 19, a Hackney-based singer/songwriter, emerged in June 2018 as part of a promising new wave of UK R&B and soul artists, with her debut single, Stranded Love, gaining over half a million streams across Spotify and Apple Music in the UK.

The teen then secured her status as one to watch with follow-up track, You, which was added to BBC 1Xtra’s Introducing Playlist and has gained support from Beats 1 and Capital Xtra. Hamzaa recently joined Muze, Laurel, John Grant and Jon Cleary on BBC Later… with Jools Holland, after being hand-picked by the legendary musician to perform for a live studio audience.
