Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody has been named ambassador for BBC Music Day's new website, Music Memories, which plays music 'designed to trigger memories in people with dementia'.

Lightbody, whose father suffered from the disease, has also created a film about music and dementia for The One Show, and commented 'Anything that throws a light on the disease and helps in any way to reconnect people with their lost memories is something I want to be involved in'.
