Peter Egan, Thandie Newton, Dev Patel, Dame Joanna Lumley and Ricky Gervais have lent their support to #FoieGrasFreeGB, a campaign from Animal Equality, demanding an import ban on foie gras post-Brexit.

Egan, a vegan and longtime animal lover, delivered a petition of 100,000 signatures to the PM as part of the campaign, and Patel commented 'As so many undercover investigations reveal, foie gras production causes prolonged suffering to birds... The process is so exceptionally cruel that foie gras production was made illegal in the UK, yet the sale and importation of it is still allowed. We refuse to tolerate this loophole'.
