Harrison Ford has been awarded the 2018 Jane Alexander Global Wildlife Ambassador Award for his 'heroic devotion' to the planet.
The Star Wars actor has dedicated time to patrolling the Hudson River by helicopter to get a bird's-eye view of polluters, as well as highlighting the challenges of deforestation in Indonesia as host of Showtime's Years of Living Dangerously. Ford will receive award on September 29, and commented 'Nothing is more important to human society than preserving its natural capital. Nature does not need people, people need nature'.
