070 Shake, formerly known as Danielle Balbuena, began her music career in late 2015, soon earning hundreds of thousands of streams on SoundCloud, with personal tracks about her sexuality, self-esteem and drug use.

After attracting the attention of hip-hop social media personality YesJulz in 2016, she signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label after her music was played at his Yeezy fitting, piquing the interest of the label’s president, Pusha T. Earlier this year, Shake’s fame sky-rocketed after West featured her on his new album YE, providing catchy melodies on the single Violent Crimes, and on the stand-out track Ghost Town, which also includes vocals from Kid Cudi and John Legend. Critics have described the 20 year old as the ‘breakout star’ of the album and also praised her for appearances on Pusha T’s Daytona and Nas’ Nasir.
