Amber Mark, whose childhood was spent travelling with her Buddhist painter mother, is making her mark in the R&B scene with music infused with global sounds.
It was her mother’s passing that shaped much of her debut 3:33am EP, capturing the seven stages of grief and serving as an ode to the woman who gave her life. Mark’s latest EP, entitled Conexão (Connection in Portuguese), treads into different waters, exploring the highs and lows of romance with her trademark soulful vocals and genre-splicing music, that has Billboard branding her ‘one of the most innovative artists of 2018’. Riding on this success, the 24 year old New Yorker is about to embark on a cross-country tour before joining Leon Bridges on tour, and is in the process of writing her full-length album.
