Alex Jarrett, 18, landed her first recurring TV role in January, when she was cast to play Azelma Thenardier in the BBC’s upcoming adaptation of Les Misérables, due to hit screens later this year.

With co-stars including Dominic West, Lily Collins, David Oyelowo and Olivia Colman, this is the actress’s biggest role to date, following appearances in The Rebel and The Jonah Man in 2017, and a performance in Danny Boyle’s Olympic Opening Ceremony in 2012. Her talents aren’t limited to acting however; Jarrett's also a dancer and winner of several poetry slam competitions, and she was previously involved in political activities, having been elected Young Mayor for Newham when she was 15.
