Rachelle Vinberg, a member of New York skateboarding collective Skate Kitchen, has become a hit on the indie film scene after starring in Crystal Moselle's upcoming drama Skate Kitchen (released September 28).

The film marks the 19 year old's first major screen role, and sees her and her mostly female crew - who have also been recruited by Pharrell, adidas and Miu Miu to star in visual campaigns - playing semi-autobiographical versions of themselves. Vinberg impressed Sundance audiences with her skateboarding skills and confident performance in the coming-of-age tale, which has earned comparisons to Larry Clark's seminal 1990s film Kids.
