slowthai, who started rapping at the age of eight in his Northampton hometown, is becoming an ambassador for small town creatives through his social commentary and unique rap style.

A product of the grime generation, the 23 year old has incorporated the DIY sounds of the British rap sub-genre, as well as the anarchic attitude and frenetic vocal style of punk music, into his work. Earlier this year, slowthai released a handful of singles including T N Biscuits, which made it in The Guardian’s monthly 50 Greatest Tracks feature, and Ladies, a dedication to 'his mother, her mother and all the women in his life', which had Complex describe him as 'one of the country's unique new voices'. Next up, the rapper will be performing at The Underworld in Camden Town this September as part of his Circus Tour, which will also take him to Manchester and Birmingham.
