Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox, who became the first openly transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy in 2014, will be honoured at the 2018 Planned Parenthood gala on May 1, along with the charity's outgoing president Cecile Richards.
Last year's gala, which celebrated Planned Parenthood's 100th anniversary, honoured Hillary Clinton and Shonda Rhimes.
