American musician and lead guitarist of Chic, Nile Rodgers, has been named Chief Creative Advisor at Abbey Road Studios, where he will help establish the venue as a 'creative base' in the UK while serving as a global ambassador for the studios.

Rodgers commented 'From the first time I heard The Beatles I Want To Hold Your Hand, I dreamt of Abbey Road. Forget about practice getting you to Carnegie Hall, I wanted to get to Abbey Road!... To be Abbey Road’s Chief Creative Advisor, its first and only, is something I consider a great responsibility and I would like to thank not only the Abbey Road team for entrusting me with this duty, but also Sir Paul for his congratulations'.
