British actress Billie Piper has launched a new charity competition, offering fans the chance to see her perform in her latest play, Yerma, on Broadway, with flights to New York and accomodation included, for £1.
The 'Yerma lottery' will raise funds for The Primary Shakespeare Company, an organisation - of which she's patron - which works to engage and inspire primary school children from disadvantaged backgrounds using drama and Shakespeare. Piper commented 'As a child, I really struggled in school... Drama changed all of that, it gave me a purpose and a passion. I know there will be so many children right now feeling exactly the same way and this is why what The Primary Shakespeare Company does is so important'.
