Actress, model and activist Pamela Anderson has partnered with the Ride Responsibly initiative and Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) to star in a new public service announcement, drawing attention to the high number of sexual assaults which have occurred in ride-hailing vehicles, and questioning whether sufficient background checks on drivers were carried out.

Anderson commented 'It is critical that we take the next step, demand justice for victims and force ride-hail apps to ensure our safety in their vehicles.... These apps are optimised for predators and will remain so until common sense safety measures are put in place'.
