Blu Hunt, who appeared in a handful of episodes of The Originals, has landed the lead role of Danielle Moonstar, the Native American telepath, in Josh Boone’s X-Men spinoff, New Mutants.

After a lengthy international search, the 22 year old was cast opposite Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton in Marvel’s latest superhero flick, set for release in April 2018. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2013 to study acting, Hunt has had minor roles in the TV programmes Girl on Girl and This Is It, and was signed by major talent agency CAA in June.
