Essex-born Dodie Clark started posting both original and cover songs on her YouTube channel, doddleoddle, and its side channel, doddlevloggle, in 2011.

Now, having racked up 1.2 million subscribers, the 22 year old singer/songwriter, known for her acoustic romance songs, has become a successful stage performer, selling out for her UK tour in a matter of hours. The online singing sensation also became the first UK artist to win the Shorty Award for Best YouTube musician this year and made YouTuber history when her EP, You, reached number six in the UK charts. But it’s not just her musical abilities that have struck a chord with fans; after opening up about her mental health struggles online, Clarke filmed a documentary for the BBC in which she charted her treatment for depersonalisation (a mental disorder resulting in a sense of detachment). The support she received spurred the young artist on to pen her first book, Secrets for the Mad, released November 2, about her experiences.
