Award winning British chef Michael Caines has been announced as an ambassador for the Calvert Trust Exmoor, which provides outward bound holidays and activities for disabled people and their families and carers.
Caines lost his right arm in a car accident in 1994, but returned to work as head chef at Gidleigh Park on Dartmoor a few weeks later, eventually earning the restaurant its second Michelin star. He was unveiled as the charity’s newest ambassador while speaking at a centre near Blackmoor Gate about overcoming disability.
