Belgian-born designer Raf Simons, Chief Creative Officer at Calvin Klein, took home the awards for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Menswear Designer of the Year at the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards.

Calvin Klein himself was the only other designer to receive both honours at once in 1993. Further winners include the late Italian journalist Franca Sozzani, who was honoured with the coveted Fashion Icon Award, and British makeup artist Pat McGrath who scooped the Founder's Award, in honour of Eleanor Lambert.
