Hetty Douglas is a painter for the millennial generation.

Having graduated from London College of Fashion in 2013, the south London based artist has gone on to carve out her own very distinctive tongue-in-cheek tone, making notes of Instagram comments, late night texts and Facebook messages to inform her work. The 24 year old’s paintings, which explore her experiences as a woman and feature slang phrases ‘You’re peng’ and blunt declarations ‘I’m not f****** cute’ on top of smears of bright acrylic paint, have already caught the attention of the art and fashion worlds. Douglas has had two shows, featured in magazines including Vogue and Wonderland Magazine, collaborated with fashion label Story on their spring/summer 2017 collection and is now working with fellow visual artist Alfie Kungu on their joint exhibition in July.
