BBC TV presenter Simon Reeve is urging the public to join him in taking on the Marine Conservation Society's Plastic Challenge, sponsored by BRITA UK, which encourages people to give up single use plastic for a month.
Already an ambassador for the marine charity, Reeve hopes to highlight the increasing threat to marine wildlife brought on by plastic litter on beaches, and commented 'Our planet is becoming poisoned by plastic. The vast amount in our oceans has become an environmental emergency as a direct result of our throwaway society. That’s why I’m supporting thousands of people living without single use plastic this June as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s Plastic Challenge'.
