Celebrities including Nadiya Hussain, Hugh Bonneville, Sir Ringo Starr, Ellie Simmonds, and James Bay have teamed up with WaterAid to 'shine a light on the global water crisis', in honour of World Water Day today, sharing photos of themselves raising a glass of clean drinking water, to raise awareness of the one in ten people around the world who don't have access to safe, clean water.

Hussain commented 'My childhood holidays to Bangladesh opened my eyes to the struggles of having no access to a clean, safe water source. Tragically, a child dies every two minutes from diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. This World Water Day, I’m proud to be helping WaterAid to spread the message that we all have a role to play in ensuring clean water for all'.
