The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks has teamed up with Cancer Research UK to help support its #ActOfUnity campaign in association with World Cancer Day, which takes place February 4.

The campaign encourages people to wear a unity band on the day, and share selfies using the hashtag #ActOfUnity, to raise awareness of the cause. Wicks promoted the campaign by surprising TOWIE superfan Leah and her dad Darren, who survived testicular cancer, in Amy Childs's salon, and he commented 'I’m so proud to be supporting World Cancer Day on 4 February. Everyone is touched by cancer in some way and even the smallest Act of Unity to show your support - like taking someone for lunch to cheer them up -can make the biggest difference...
