V. has announced Mesut Özil, midfielder for Arsenal and Germany, as its official PES ambassador. The footballer will help launch its eSport tournament, PES League the Road to Cardiff, from which the final 16 best players will gather in Cardiff ahead of the UEFA Champions League Final. Özil commented 'I have been following PES for years.... It is fantastic to see myself playing in the game as I do for Arsenal and Germany, and I am extremely excited to be part of this fantastic football project'. The competition ends January 5 2017.
