Former head chef at Islington’s Smokehouse and one of the original chefs who helped launch popular ribs restaurant Pitt Cue Co, Neil Rankin certainly earned his culinary stripes slaving over the barbecue.
The former sound engineer turned chef started his gastronomical career under Michael Wignall at the Latymer Pennyhill Park, Rhodes 24 and Chez Bruce, and gained more success earlier this year with his debut cookbook, Low And Slow: How To Cook Meat. Later this year, the Scot will open the doors to his first ever solo barbecue restaurant, Temper, in London’s Soho, which promises to fuse Turkish cuisine with classic barbecue flavours.
