American singer The Estate Of Tom Petty is set to be honoured as 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year at the 27th annual benefit gala next February in LA.

MusiCares is a charity that ensures people in the music industry have a place to turn to in times of financial, medical, and personal need, and the gala is set to take place two nights before The Grammys. Petty commented 'I am so very pleased to be honoured as the MusiCares Person of the Year. I have so much respect for this organisation, which really does care about the people in our industry. I myself know many people who MusiCares has aided in desperate situations. Again, let me say this is a true honour'.
