British comedian Ricky Gervais has teamed up with Animal Defenders International to launch an appeal to encourage the public to campaign to restrict the hunting of African lions.

The charity is calling on members of the public to raise awareness via social media, and Gervias commented 'The survival of the African lion hangs in the balance. We must stop blood-thirsty hunters from decimating our wildlife for a barbaric adrenaline rush or trophy piece to show off to their mates. To help save this incredible species please take action today'.
