Fresh out of drama school this year (the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama no less), Bessie Carter has landed her debut stage role in an adaptation of J B Priestley's The Roundabout at London’s Park Theatre.

But then, the 22 year old is the daughter of two major British screen and stage stars - Imelda Staunton and Downton Abbey actor Jim Carter - and with acting in her genes, it's perhaps not surprising her burgeoning career is already off to such a promising start. The Roundabout sees Carter play a young Communist who returns from Russia to be reunited with her father after ten years apart, and her performance has won praise from critics with Theatre Bubble writing that she plays the role with 'delightful gusto'.
