Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon is backing ActionAid's Brutal Cut campaign to help raise awareness about the thousands of girls who are at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM) in Kenya.
Katherine Kelly and Joanne Froggatt are also supporting the campaign, urging the public to post selfie videos on social media which are disrupted by 'powerful' 10 second messages from Kenyan girls who face the threat of FGM. Dixon commented 'I have met many inspiring women and girls living in extreme poverty so I feel passionately about supporting ActionAid's FGM campaign. Now that I have my own daughter too I feel even more strongly that stamping out FGM in Kenya is crucial - let's give it a final push, and together, if we all take action, we can save the lives of so many girls and end FGM for good'.
