American actress Jude Demorest is set to be seen in Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy's new music-themed drama series for Fox, Star.

Currently in post-production and slated to air in early 2017, the series follows a girl group who have formed with hopes of making it big in the music industry, with Demorest - who was recently signed by top US agency Creative Artists Agency - playing the lead singer. Demorest, whose TV credits include minor roles in Dallas and The Middle, will feature in Star alongside Queen Latifah, Lenny Kravitz and Benjamin Bratt.
