Imbolo Mbue's debut novel Behold The Dreamers, released August 23 by Random House, follows Cameroonian immigrant Jende Jonga who's hired as the chauffeur for a senior partner at Lehman Brothers, telling the story of the financial crisis through his eyes.

Cameroon-born Mbue's literary career started auspiciously when she was signed with her favourite author Jonathan Franzen's agent, and it was clear she was destined for great things when Behold The Dreamers was bought by Random House in 2014 in a seven figure deal - the highest amount ever for an African author. The novel has been described by National Book Award winning author Jacqueline Woodson as 'startlingly beautiful, thoughtful and both timely and timeless'.
