London based novelist Patrice Lawrence released her YA debut, Orangeboy, on June 2, to rapturous reviews from critics and readers alike.

Described as a 'gripping debut' by the Guardian and 'a powerful family drama' by the Bookseller, Orangeboy follows 16 year old Marlon, who's promised his mother that he won't follow his older brother Andre down the wrong path towards gang life, but whose world is turned upside down when he goes on a date that has tragic consequences. A gripping and fast-paced thriller that takes a thoughtful and touching look at the nature of family and friendship, Orangeboy marks out Lawrence as an exciting and important new voice in the world of young adult fiction.
